Lake Worth's Residential Neighborhoods
The City of Lake Worth has a great selection of residential communities that cover both middle class areas and upper-tier neighborhoods, both family-oriented and for active adults and retirees. Some mid-priced communities include Isola Bella, Lake Charleston, Winston Trails, Smith Farms, Wycliffe Golf & Country Club, Lakes of Sherbrooke, and Valencia Shores, an active adult (55+) community. Upper-end communities include San Messina, Legend Lake Estates, Countryside Estates, and more. As with most cities in South Florida, Lake Worth was built and developed from east to west, therefore you will find some older construction with no homeowner's association or amenities. In the newer areas on the west side of Lake Worth you will find beautifully manicured, planned developments, with gated entrances, resort-style amenities and homeowner's associations.
Lake Worth & Hypoluxo's Coastal Communities
Located just to the south of Lake Worth, Lantana and Hypoluxo offer several waterfront neighborhoods with multi-million dollar homes for sale in neighborhoods like Hypoluxo Island, as well as some more reasonably priced condominiums in newer developments like The Moorings at Lantana, Mariner's Cay, and the Yacht Club on the Intracoastal. To the east of these communities lies Manalapan, which is an island community comprised of luxurious waterfront estate homes.
Recreation and Attractions in Lake Worth
The City is the geographic and artistic center of Palm Beach County. The downtown is considered the artistic soul of Lake Worth with a historic theater and a museum, live music clubs, coffee houses, art galleries, antique malls, retail stores, and many restaurants. Lake Worth contains a bounty of public parks and open space. The Municipal Beach is one of the last remaining large tracts of open, public space on the ocean in southeast Florida. Historically, it has always been a destination complete with a Casino building with retail shops. Currently, a proposal to renovate the beach park is underway through a public/private partnership.
Lake Worth Golf Club
Established in 1927, the Lake Worth Golf Club has been the epicenter of the community. The golf course is comprised of a unique "old Florida" design with a scenic 6,100 yard, par-70 course located along 1.2 miles of the Intracoastal Waterway. The Club offers memberships to both residents and non-residents of Lake Worth at reasonable prices.
