What used to be called “season” may be over once the snowbirds leave for the summer. But Boca Raton is 24/7 now. So, if you’re here exploring before moving in, there’s plenty to do starting this month, and tickets are already on sale for events and ongoing activities.
For instance, the ‘50’s sitcom “I Love Lucy” actress Lucille Ball’s personal secretary Wanda Clark has two shows on Mother’s Day weekend at The Wick Theatre & Costume Museum. And The Wick just opened “My Way: A Musical Tribune to Frank Sinatra” through May 18. “Sing Me a Showtune” runs May 12 to 15 at the nearby Delray Beach Playhouse. The city’s Willow Theatre in Sugar Sand Park in Boca has scheduled three children’s shows through the summer starting with “The Little Mermaid’s Adventure” on June 14.
Boca’s annual Summer in the City concert series in Mizner Park Amphitheater starts with a June 13 Fleetwood Mac tribute and six more free concerts through Aug. 8, with a ticketed Live Nation concert on June 28.
Up the road apiece, Kenny G is performing at the Kravis Center, Palm Beach County’s major performing arts venue in West Palm Beach on May 6, and an Elton John Tribute “The Rocket Man Show” is May 10. There’s a gospel gala on May 17 and other shows through June.
The city of Boca Raton just announced tickets are sold out for the 100th birthday Centennial Concert in Mizner Park Amphitheater. But two free Centennial Celebration Weekend Drone Shows start at 8:15 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. May 25 at Boca Raton Innovation Campus (BRiC).
Boca Raton Ballet Theatre’s “Summer Breezes” mixed repertory performances are Aug. 2 and 3 with a San Francisco Ballet guest ballerina in the lead.
“From Venice to Boca Raton: Glasstress 2025,” has opened at the Boca Raton Museum of Art through Oct. 12.
