It didn’t take long to replace the missing B in the Boca Raton sign just east of Military Trail. It notifies everyone that they’re back inside Boca Raton city limits. Whether you’re moving here or looking, the first thing you’ll notice when you enter or leave Boca Raton is the difference.

You may see splashes on the street, even when it’s sunny. The spray is from sprinklers in the medians. City workers also monitor tree debris. They make sure trees are ready for the start of the annual hurricane season by grooming tops of trees that could blow around.

Boca’s five mile stretch of beaches are cleaned frequently, and nonprofits do regular beach cleanups. A city council member has been doing runs in the city for years with volunteers to pick up litter.

It’s catching. You’ll see people in golf carts using grabbers to make sure their neighborhood’s entrance/exit along city streets remain litter free.

The city even has a link on its website and cellphone app for photos, so residents can alert staff that there’s something they should fix or remove.
