Public schools here start weeks earlier than schools up north. So if you’re moving here with children, the first day of school in The School District of Palm Beach County, Martin County School District and St. Lucie Public Schools is Aug. 11. Private and faith-based schools also start in August.

If you’re arriving this summer, most public and private day camps here have weekly enrollments. So, you can keep your kids busy while you move in. And starting June 3, the School District of Palm Beach County’s School Food Service will provide free breakfast and lunch meals at 190 sites, including schools, libraries, and community centers, to children attending summer school and summer camp, as well as anyone 18 years old and younger.
The Diocese of Palm Beach has a separate education division that includes all the Catholic schools in Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie counties. The first day of school is Aug. 12.
