Here’s an update for new residents: New security measures go into effect July 31 for your new Florida driver’s license. You can even register to vote at the same location. The deadline to vote in the August Primary Election has passed, but Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections encourages new residents to register as soon as you can.
Here’s your Palm Beach County Relocation Guide:
Here’s the link to locate your nearest office to apply for a Florida driver’s license. You have to apply in person since your photo will be taken, but no more sitting and waiting. Offices now require making an appointment online in advance. https://www.flhsmv.gov/locations/palm-beach/
Here’s what you’ll need to bring: Original documents that validate your identity, Social Security Number (SSN) and residential address. Those applying for a first-time license or identification card will be issued a card that meets the new statutory requirements. From now on, the distinguishing numbers assigned to a driver license will include at least four randomly generated numbers to improve security and safeguard individuals’ identities.
You can apply for voter registration while doing your driver license business. A driver license examiner will ask you if you would like to apply for voter registration and provide an application. Your voter registration application is forwarded to your local county supervisor of elections office. Your official registration card will be mailed later from your Supervisor of Elections Office.
Or you can register to vote online and find where your precinct will be located at this link to Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office.
