Boca Raton and Delray Beach north to West Palm Beach have vibrant libraries with on-site and digital access, public computers and extensive programming like interactive story times for kids.
The city of Boca Raton, for instance, has two beautiful libraries and sets aside space for laptops and quiet rooms for students. They just launched My First Library Card! for kids. The digital library offers online books, audiobooks, news, magazines, investment research, streaming movies, and language and technology classes. You can borrow books, video games, puzzles, chess games, sewing machines, and even musical instruments. You can sign up for an array of programs featuring expert speakers and performers. The Mandel Library of West Palm Beach has a homework center and a bookmobile.
You’ll also have a B plan. The Palm Beach County Library System has 20 locations and a bookmobile.
The Canyon Branch in west Boynton Beach is brand new. Both that venue and the Wellington Branch are hosting talks by Marvel Comics illustrator Jerry DeCaire later this month. There are two Palm Beach County libraries in the western suburbs of Boca Raton. The Glades Road Branch is now showing “Magical Masks,” part of the county’s Art in Public Places initiative. The West Boca Branch just offered line dancing and a Kids Chess Hangout.
