If you’re moving to Palm Beach or Martin counties, your likely airport of choice will be Palm Beach International in West Palm Beach, known as PBI.
There are two larger airports further south, but most locals use PBI for trips back north. Logistically, it’s just off I-95 and more compact and convenient than airports in major cities.
You may see Air Force One on the tarmac periodically for the next four years. You’re not seeing things… When President Trump is in town at his home in Palm Beach, there’s a Temporary Flight Restriction over that airspace that affects pilots. There’s also now a hi-speed private railroad that goes to all three airports. See the link below for Brightline.
And although Boca Raton Airport is only used by business and private smaller jets and other aircraft, there’s something new there for you, too. An open-air observation deck overlooking the runway just opened from dawn to dusk. It even has a speaker to hear what the control tower on the field is saying to pilots. - PBI welcomed its 15th airline in November when Porter Airlines started offering nonstop service to Toronto Pearson International (YYZ)
- Concourse B is being reconstructed in three phases. Phases 1 and 2 will include a new 3,000-square-foot restaurant shell space, new terrazzo flooring, restroom expansion and updates to the interior finishes to the existing concourse. The final phase will expand the end of the concourse and will include additional passenger seating areas, elevated ceiling heights, two new passenger boarding bridges, a sensory room, a nursing suite, and shell space for new restaurants and other amenities. The first phase is expected to start in February and be completed in the spring of 2028.
