With the usual year-round sunshine and cool down approaching, South Florida’s annual open-air farmers markets start reopening on weekends now through April or May.
You’ll find farmers markets in Boca Raton; Delray Beach opening Oct. 25, and in Boynton Beach, Lake Worth Beach, West Palm Beach for the 31st season, and Palm Beach Gardens. Port St. Lucie’s farmer’s market is open Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There are also farmers’ markets in Deerfield Beach and Pompano Beach just south of Boca Raton. So, you can shop ‘til you drop nearby or make all your farmers market visits excursions.
All the farmers markets have one thing in common…local vendors selling and often offering samples of locally grown produce, flowers, baked goods and more. Some have live music. The Boca market even has a free yoga class at 9:30 a.m. They’re usually open rain or shine, pet friendly and have free admission and parking. Check first if it’s not one of the markets listed below. Some may call themselves farmer’s markets but they’re really just supermarkets or produce stands.

- Delray Beach Winter Greenmarket, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays from Oct. 25 to May 16 in Old School Square.
- Community Farmers Market of Boynton Beach, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, A1A and Boynton Beach Boulevard.
- Lake Worth Beach Waterside Farmer’s Market, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, overpass at A1A and Lake Avenue, 80 vendors.
- West Palm Beach Greenmarket, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturdays, West Palm Beach Waterfront Commons.
- The Gardens Greenmarket, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays at City Hall Municipal Campus, 10500 N. Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens.
- Port St. Lucie Green Market, Saturdays and Sundays, two locations.
