Coming soon to a cell phone, BlackBerry or iPhone near you: Photos, virtual tours and other information about homes for sale.
Boca Raton-based Lang Realty this month debuted Lang Realty Mobile, which lets home shoppers send a text message and receive the full details about a home in a few seconds.
Lang Realty agent Shereen Randazza already has added SMS text codes to her marketing info.
“Because we’re in a time of uncertainty, exposure is key,” she says. “Now we’re marketing directly to someone’s cell phone. It’s instantaneous, it’s convenient.”
Randazza acknowledges that buyers didn’t flood her with text messages in the first week of her mobile efforts, but she attributes that to the novelty of the offering. Lang plans a full marketing blitz that starts Sunday.
Lang head Scott Agran says mobile devices soon could rival the Internet as a source of listing info.
“It’s just a question of when, not if,” Agran says.
Other brokers plan mobile offerings, too. Illustrated Properties Real Estate of Palm Beach Gardens is set to add mobile listing info this summer, said Chappy Adams.
“Our average buyer is a little bit older and not quite on the texting bandwagon yet,” he said. “But in this market, anything helps.”
