Lang Realty’s President & CEO, Scott Agran provided expertise on residential real estate trends in the January 13th South Palm Beach County’s Jewish Federation’s Metro Business with a cutting-edge breakfast panel on “The Real Deal – What You Can Count on in a Changing Economy.” More than 60 business leaders and professionals gathered on the west Boca campus of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County to hear Scott Agran, President of Lang Realty; Michael Kaufman, President and Founder of Kaufman Lynn General Contractors; and Simon Portnoy, Chairman and CEO of Peninsula Bank. The second in a series of four breakfast panels sponsored by the Federation’s Metro Division, the morning offered high level networking and discussion as well as a true perspective on the current real estate market.
Panelists discussed recent trends in both residential and commercial real estate, financing and future predictions. Scott Agran focused on the following talking points:
- The housing market is still moving but not a fast and furious as former days .
- Great time for buyers such as first time homebuyers, trade up buyers, baby boomers and second homeowners, investors. Each of these groups is opportunistic finding good value at low interest rates as they continue to wait for the bottom or a better deal there is a pent up demand for homes.
- Most established communities without new construction in the greater Boca Raton market have under 8-10 % of the homes on the market so they are well with in historical norms. So once we hit bottom the prices should firm up rather quickly
“I am delighted to have been invited to participate in the breakfast event. It was a terrific networking event and provided attendees with several different perspectives on residential and commercial real estate.” remarks Scott Agran. All local residents in business are invited to learn from experts, enjoy breakfast and make fresh connections with others who care about the community. The monies generated by gifts from the attendees, help us provide essential services here and all over the world through the Federation’s annual campaign. Requests for help with essentials like food are way up – not just from low-income elderly residents but also from families like ours where jobs have been lost or homes foreclosed.
The Breakfast Series continues on March 10 with another high-interest topic: “How They Did It – The Business of Big Ideas.” Presenters will include business innovators Milton Berlinski, Vice Chairman, Goldman Sachs Strategy and Corporate Development Group; Andrew Rudnick, CEO, Sleekmedspa; and Barbara Theodosiou, Founder & CEO, Women’s Business Mastermind Group and Mommy Mentors. The series will conclude on May 12 with “The Business of Sports – It’s More than a Game.” A $20 couvert covers the remaining two breakfast panels; with a $365 minimum gift to the 2009 UJA/Federation Annual Campaign. All breakfasts in the series are held on the Federation campus from 7:30 to 9:00 am.
