Are you making the most of your time?

Posted by Web Master on Tuesday, March 26th, 2013 at 4:22pm.

Good afternoon to you all!  One of my New Year resolutions is to make sure I blog consistenly!  Time gets away from about you?  You know, the only thing that is the equalizer for us all is time. We all have 24 hours a day, and seven days in the week.   What we don't know, is exactly how much  total time we individually have.  We would all like to think that we will  have 90+ years here on Earth...but we really don't know, do we?  But what makes the difference (didn't I learn in school when I was a kid that you never start a sentence with but?) is what we do with our time....however much we  do have.

Do you get the most out of your day?  Every now and then, ask yourself, "Am I making the best use of my time?"  If not, stop what you are doing and begin working on a project that will allow you better use of your time.  This goes for business, as well as personal.

Do you work with goals in mind?  It is amazing how differently you work when you have goals to work towards.  They become a road know where you are going and how to get there instead of roaming aimlessly...lost.

Don't allow anyone to take your time from you.  Set up boundaries around your time.  Use your time wisely on the job, and at home.

Build family and personal time into your day.  We all need to have the support of our family or make sure you build them into your daily habits.  You don't want to finish your career and realize that you missed out on the closeness and development of your family.

Don't neglect your is important, isn't it?  Maintain your health and fitness because this is what will help you through in the long run.  Sooooo, take extra care of this...go for a walk, have a massage, spend time with your family, stop and smell the roses!  Read a book.

The saying is, if you have your health, you have everything.  Isn't that the truth?  Seeing my own dear sister, Karen, battle breast cancer for almost two years,  really opened my eyes and heart to this saying.  Her quality of  life was seriously compromised for this time.....and she looked at me and said ," This is the extent of my life..."  It really hit home with me.  Really.  I have become more patient with others.  I have become more diligent in utilizing my time more carefully.  I have realized what is really most important to health, my family, my friends.  Not how much money I can make....not how much 'stuff'  I can accumulate...not driving a new vehicle every three years, not shopping at the 'right' stores, you get the message.  What is important to me, is what matters to me.  I want to spend my time with my family as much as I can.  I want to spend my work days here at Lang Realty effectively....really making a difference.   I want to make the most of my time.....

As I have gotten older (thank goodness that I am getting older...(many people dread getting older....I say we should celebrate every single day we get....getting older is not a curse, it is a Blessing)  I have come to realize that not everyone I love is always going to be here with me.  I have learned not to put off  until tomorrow what I can do and say today.\n\nMy younger sister, Karen, passed away in October.....I never, ever thought that she would go before me.  What a jolt.  She was only 52.  (ok, so now you know I am older than 52 LOL)  Many people die older.  Many people die younger.  But (grammar error, again????) I question myself every day.....did I make the most of my time with her?  No.  I did not.  I thought we had more time.  How sad.  And I can't change that now.

What I can change now, is my use of my remaining time. I can tell you that I have decided to definitely make the most of my time left here with my brother, my husband, my children, my grandchildren, my nieces and nephews and in-laws. and friends...that is what I can change.

What about you?    I know change is not easy...the only one who likes change is a baby with a wet diaper!  I also have learned that nothing really great comes from within our comfort zones....that if we really want to grow, we need to embrace and adapt to change.  Changing our daily habits is not easy.....spending more  quality time with family takes effort and a conscious decision to make it happen.  Changing our daily work habits also takes effort..and a conscious decision to make it happen!

Are you ready for change?  Are you ready to make it happen?  For your personal life as well as your business life?  Don't be one of the people that spends their life getting ready to make a change.....make it!

Lang Realty and I can help you on the business end.....  I can help you to find a balance between family and business time.  I can help you to become more effective in what you do and how you do it.....that is my commitment to you and our agents.    I am dedicated to enabling the agents to make the most of their time.

A New Year is just upon us...what a great place to start!  I am making sure my resolutions are meaningful.  I would like to help you with change....if you are ready to change  and come to a company that really cares about their agents.....then Lang Realty is for you!  Come and talk to will be a good use of  your time...I promise!  You can reach me at 561-209-7878 or
